Forward Running - Glutes and Hamstrings...

Running has been going well around these parts.
Getting my training in, without over-doing it.

I did manage to let myself sleep in today (until 7am!)...
and missed my morning run.
That's okay- I already have plans to run with a friend this evening.

Yesterday morning I had the husband take another video
of me running- for another Karhu Forward Running form post!
(in my Karhu Flow Fulcrum Ride running shoes, of course!)

This one is focused on how the Glutes and Hamstrings
help us run and how to best utilize these huge muscles.

Let's just say that I am NOT utilizing them well at all.
Ugh- the video of me compared to Karhu's video is AWFUL!


Their form looks so efficient and amazing.
 
Mine, however- not so much.
I do NOT straighten my leg or bring my feet up at all.
No kick whatsoever.
Not pretty...

I do think that I run differently when I know it's being recorded.
It's hard to run naturally when I am just running a few yards.
 
Still- some work needs to be done on this, for reals.
I will be doing some butt kick drills, that's for sure.

  2. Thanks for sharing that video! I know my form could use some work, I don't think I have any sort of kick, either.
