5 days post marathon and no real running yet.
I was so sore after this marathon.
More sore than I have ever been after a race.
I know I was not nearly as prepared for this marathon
as I was for the other ones, but man alive was I hurting.
It got a lot better on day three.
Now I just have a pain in my foot...
right about here:
It hurts a bit when I move my toes,
but mostly now just when I press on it.
but mostly now just when I press on it.
My foot has been sore kind of like this before and it went away.
Obviously the other thing it could be scares me,
but we shall see.
Anyone else ever had this?
It seems like it's slowly feeling better.
I think I may try to run a little tomorrow and see how it goes.
I have a half marathon in 3 weeks-
It's amazing how fun and exciting running a half marathon can be-
right after running a marathon, that is.
13.1 miles seems much more doable.
It will also be the husband's first half marathon!
He did 10 miles yesterday.
He did not so much love it- but he finished it!
I think he is going to try for 11 this week,
then it is taper time for him.
So excited for him to finish his half and get his first medal!
Also very glad that this race decided to give every finisher a medal this year.
Hopefully my foot cooperates so I can be a part of all the fun :).
On another note,
I am having so much fun watching the Olympics!

I could just sit and watch it all day long.
I swear I cry every time they do a medal ceremony.
Doesn't matter who won or which country they represent-
they all get me.

Can't wait for track and field to start!
I can easily get by watching swimming, diving, gymnastics, etc...
while I wait :).

I had the same foot pain after my marathon. Tied my shoe too tight. Hurt for almost two months. I used speed laces(and also kept the shoe loose with regular laces in parts) to help ease the pressure on my foot when running and it did the trick. No more pain.(although it did not hurt when I moved my toe) I thought it might have been the other thing but I think a tendon just had too much pressure on it.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! Keep us posted on the foot pain... I've never had trouble with that spot, it's usually my shin that acts out. Sounds like you're being wise, letting it heal.
ReplyDeleteYes! We're having a blast watching the Olympics here, too.
I hope your foot feels better. Mine is hurting and so is my ankle - ARGH not what you want when you're a runner. I don't have anything like you described though - mostly b/c my runs are short and lame and not even close to marathons.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited your hubs will be doing the half with you :) can't wait for the recap!
Has anyone had any issues with their outter thigh burning? I even have had issues with the highest of my feet tingling, a pinched nerve within the neck and so a year later a pinched nerve in my lower back. currently my outter thigh started burning concerning three weeks past.
