First day and very little running...

I have enjoyed our summer break this year.
It was nice to have an actual summer vacation from school.
(Up until this past year, my kids have had year-round school)

However, it has made my brain go KA-PLOW
and anything resembling a scheduling or any sort of order...
that seems to have gone right out the window.

So- while I'm not saying I am ready to send my kids
back to school... my brain needs to be on a schedule!

Less than 2 weeks until my 4 oldest start school.
(yes, I will have 4 kids at the elementary school this year)

Not little B-man, though...
He got to start preschool today!

We took him earlier this week to get his back to school haircut...
which was so very overdue.
As you can see from this before pic from a few weeks ago:
B-man is the one on the right.
I know, their hair looks pretty much the same.

After the haircut:
He told the lady he wanted a mohawk.

He looks so much older now.
All handsome and ready for the first day of preschool!
(I ran out of gel for the mohawk)
I may or may not have cried watching my last-born,
my little baby man, walk into school.
Not sure what I am going to do without my constant companion.
3 days a week for 2 hours.

Oh wait, anything I want!!
It has been 10 years since I have had that much time alone...
 without kids.
Wow.

On the running front-
the big half marathon is this weekend!
The husband is ready.
I am not so much.
Very little running has taken place.
I am telling myself that I just ran a marathon 3.5 weeks ago.
I can do 13.1 miles.

Right?

Ugh.

  1. He is such a cutie! We're at opposite ends of the parenting spectrum- can't imagine the youngest heading off to preschool. So exciting to have more time, though! I think you can handle the 13, not every race is going to be a pr, just enjoy it!
