Let's get this party started!
Day 1 of Disneyland started with just getting everyone
to the front gates and ready to go in.
My grandma came, too- she is 82 and recently had
knee replacement surgery, so a motorized cart was needed.
The husband took care of that...
I know he really loves this picture and even more-
LOVES that I keep putting it on the world wide interweb...
for everyone to see forever and ever.
He had a good time driving it around while we waited for
my parents and grandma to get there on the tram.
Cousins ready to get their Disney on:
Finally, we were all there and ready to go.
All 18 of us.
10 kids under 10 years old...
and 8 adults.
My SIL got us hooked up with RideMax.com.
I fell in love with it and went crazy.
It allowed my inner bossypants to come out very nicely.
We (okay, I) created an itinerary with ridemax.com and we
followed it pretty much exactly for the whole day.
It was awesome and we were able to do almost every ride
that we wanted to do at Disneyland on Day 1.
(It even tells you when to send a runner to get FastPasses)
Anyway...
We saw Goofy right away, so the pictures began.
The kids and I made autograph books this time around-
so much cheaper than buying them and look how cute...
(I bought spiral bound notecards then we glued paper on the front and back,
added Disney stickers plus their names and then covered them in packing tape to
keep them from falling apart)
They worked great!
Then the day really got going.
First ride: Dumbo!
It was pretty much nonstop from there.
Here come all the pictures I have from Day 1:
We were unable to pull the sword from the stone- sad.
Even with everyone working together.
Little B-man was big enough to go on almost all the rides-
including Splash Mountain!
He managed to grab the front seat...
and got just a bit wet :).
Grandpa and Princess B.
D-man and cousin J there in the back!
It was a blast having all these cousins together to share
this magical experience together :).
They don't get to see their Oregon cousins enough
and we just LOVED being there with them.
Clearly a fun bunch, can't you tell?
We were all exhausted after Day 1-
so we headed home as the park closed, ready for sleep!
The next day was California Adventure.
Coming soon!

My kids and I were just talking about what fun we had at Disneyland over the summer and now your post makes me want to go back even more.
ReplyDeletePS I sent you a secret high five through the sword...
FUN! I hope I am able to take my kids there someday, and ME! I have never been. Great idea with the autograph books!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like SOOOO much fun! We haven't taken Logan yet....I have only been once :( I can't believe you made it out alive with that parent to child ratio ;P I definitely prefer a 1:1 MINIMUM ;P
ReplyDeleteLOVED the photos though. I think the hubs looks cute in those ears :P
