Marathon running rambles...

Today was cross-training day.
30 minutes weights.
45 minutes of elliptical-ing.

That's all- nothing else interesting going on.
So I'll ramble about running.
I can ramble about running all day long.

I have been putting off letting myself fully accept
that marathon training is going on.
Obviously the 16 mile run on Monday was part of
marathon training, but I have yet to acknowledge it.

So, here I am...
acknowledging it.

My first marathon of the year is in less than 3 months.
85 days away.
Marathon training is happening.

As soon as I say it out loud
I get that "what have I done!?" feeling.
Then I remind myself...
I really do love running marathons.
It is easily my favorite race distance.

If that makes me a special sort of idiot, so be it!
(I saw this pic somewhere yesterday and had to put it in- love it)

  1. I had the same thoughts about my upcoming marathon too though mine is still 18 weeks away so I have a few more weeks before I have to acknowledge it.

  2. Haha! You are too funny... I'm starting to come around to appreciating marathons. I was the same way, in denial this last cycle until about the half way point. Actually, I think by the time I finally signed up, there were only 9 weeks left. :)

  3. Oh my goodness! I just looked at your race schedule and couldn't believe you are running three marathons so close together. That's so incredible. Marathon training last year was pretty challenging for me last year. I love the half marathon because as long as I run all week long and do a long run on Saturdays I am always ready for a race. Marathons are just tough though!! Good for you and keep up the good work.
