It was 36 degrees when I dropped little B-man at preschool.
After weeks and weeks of highs in the low to mid-20's,
36 degrees somehow felt like springtime.
The dirty, gross smoggy air is gone, too!
Finally time to run outside again!
It had been SO long since I had done a good outdoor run.
It felt amazing.
I even remembered to take a few pictures.
Mother nature dropped a good amount of snow on us this week,
so the sidewalks were all a little treacherous:
Most of the roads were cleared,
so I could run on the shoulders/bike lanes most of the time.
Lots of dirty snow slush made for wet feet- but so worth it.
I run faster outside.
I actually try to run TOO fast,
so I have to pick a pace and try to stick with that.
Today I picked 8:20 and stayed pretty close to that.
I got in a good 9 miles.
My legs did feel more fatigued than they usually do
after I run the same distance on the treadmill.
I guess that makes sense, right?
Much more varied terrain and uphill/downhill.
My Hoo-Rag did awesome at keeping my head and ears warm.
It also made me look fabulous
while also making it clear that I look better with hair.
We are looking at a good week or so of temps in the 30's,
so I'm looking forward to many more outdoor miles!;
Happy day!
Running outside is so much better than the treadmill!! I am happy for you that you got the chance to experience some good winter running!!
ReplyDeleteWe just got rid of all the snow, which is kind of a relief! Now I can just run, without worrying about doing a salto mortale.
ReplyDeleteLove the hairthingy!
Mom's Home Run
That's a great pace for snowy conditions! Great job!
