Laryngitis and the husband half take 2...

I have had a mild cold this week
and yesterday it turned into a fun case of laryngitis.
I was going to try and run 20 miles tomorrow,
but I am thinking of putting that off for a week.
Technically it's not below the neck (a sore throat and lost voice)...
so I could still run- but I am afraid that 20 is too much.

Anyone ever ran with laryngitis?
I'm not sure what to do.  I don't want to make it worse.

In racing news...
I got the husband all signed up for his 2nd annual half marathon!
The Timpanogos Half!

It is supposed to beautiful and it's all downhill...

 Also, the medal is huge!
I think this will be a great race for him.
I have heard only wonderful things about it.

I am going to do the same race, except the full marathon.

For this race, that means starting at the finish line and
running up the canyon to where the half marathon starts.
Then turning around and running back.
Oh... and the marathon starts at 3:20am.
I am strangely super excited about this race :).

Happy Weekend!!

  2. I love the Timpanogos run. I will running the half this year. I remember riding the buses to the starting line and seeing the full marathoners on the side of the road running up the canyon and then people cheering as they got to the starting line and then turned around. Pretty awesome! I will have to keep my eyes open for you.

All this sickness going around is driving me looney. We've certainly had our fair share around here and want it gone now!! Arggg.....

  3. I've run with laryngitis and never had a problem. But it's better to be safe and take a day off than run when you're too sick!

I love the half course, the full course looks insane. Good luck with that! Also, I'd recommend just not going to sleep that night. It might be easier.

  4. I have run with it too and done fine. Good luck with the marathon I bet that makes it easy to get a negative split!
