Don’t drink the park water…

Today I took my kids to the park/splash pad. I really did think to myself: “Taking 5 kids to the park is a good enough workout for one day“.
I realized about 2 minutes after getting there that I am fooling myself. My kids aren’t babies anymore. They don’t need me at the park. I basically sit there…or follow them around acting like I’m taking care of kids, even though they clearly don’t need my help with anything.
I can now be the mom at the park who can bring a book. It’s nice, I’m not going to lie.I still have to glance up every 15 seconds to count kids-and to stop them from drinking the splash pad water…

but luckily my kids aren’t runners… and they’re scared of strangers.
This means that I could not continue to believe that sitting on my butt at the park is a workout.
So I ran 1.5 miles and did an hour long spin class.Lots of sweat, hill climbs and sprint intervals. THAT was some exercise. Halfway through every spin class, I always wonderwhy in the H E double YEAHam I doing this to myself again! Then it’s over and I’m happy I did it.It’s quite an hour of varying emotion ;).
