Pepsi Refresh Community Action 5k

A while back I won an entry into the Pepsi Refresh Community Action 5k.
I don’t run a lot of 5k’s,but since I didn’t have to pay, well why not do it?
Since this race benefits the Community Action food bank-I figured this would be a great race to do with my H-girl, too!So I signed her up!

  She loves doing races and gets so excited! This time she even got her own bib number, cool bag and tech shirt.
Before the races even started, she was a winner 🙂 Radio Disney was there and she won the LIMBO CONTEST!

That really made her morning :).
Then we raced- and she did awesome! We finished in about 34 minutes-5 minutes faster than the 5k she did last month!

Plus, she was the youngest girl to run the 5k (she’s 8)-the next youngest girl was 14. She got 4th in her age division- which was ages 1-16. I thought that was a random age group.
Then she got to have her face painted…

AND we both won fun door prize gift certificates! Definitely a fun and productive morning for us.
I am so proud of our little H-girl-she has another 5k at school next week! That girl is a crazy runner girl and I just love it._________________________________________________***I got up and did 7 miles before we left for the race,so 10 total miles for me today- the most I have done in almost 2 months!  It felt great :)***
